These terms are the agreement between you and TechnoBabu (technobabu.com), a personal publication operated by Anurag Sinha from India. The first-visit popup lets you accept or decline these terms separately from optional advertising cookies. Declining does not block access to our guides; applicable copyright and lawful-use obligations still apply. They are written in plain English on purpose: a reader should be able to understand what they are agreeing to without a lawyer.
No account, no signup
Everything on TechnoBabu is free to read with no registration, no paywall and no metered articles. There is no account to create, no subscription to cancel and no newsletter you need to join. If you leave a comment you supply a name and email address with that comment, but this does not create an account and gives you no login.
If you are under 18, please read the site with a parent or guardian’s knowledge, particularly before following any guide that involves mains electricity, opening hardware or spending money.
Use of content
Articles and guides on TechnoBabu are the site’s own content. The logo, author avatar, social banner and hand-drawn post illustrations are original works created for this site and held by the owner. Some article hero images are AI-generated with Google’s Gemini image model from prompts written for this site and are labelled as such in the register. None are stock, agency or third-party assets, and the media provenance register records the creator, source and licence for each file. The typefaces (Fraunces, Archivo and JetBrains Mono) are open-source releases under the SIL Open Font License 1.1 and are self-hosted. Third-party software, product and vendor names mentioned in articles remain the property of their respective owners, and product logos or trademarks are not reproduced as site assets. The site does not grant reuse permission merely because an asset appears here.
What you may do. Quote short excerpts — a paragraph or two — for review, teaching, commentary or discussion, provided you credit TechnoBabu and link to the original article. Link to any page freely; no permission needed. Print or save a guide for your own use. Use any command, configuration snippet or script from an article in your own projects, commercially or otherwise, with no attribution required: the code exists to be used.
What you may not do. Republish whole articles or substantial parts of them, on a website, in a newsletter, in a video description or anywhere else, with or without credit. Translate an article and publish the translation without written permission. Scrape, crawl or bulk-download the site to build a dataset, train a machine-learning model, or feed a content-generation pipeline. Strip out our illustrations for use elsewhere. Present our work as your own, or as the output of an automated system.
If you want to do something the list above does not clearly cover — a classroom handout, an internal wiki, a community translation — write to support@technobabu.com with the details. Any permission decision depends on owner review; allow a few days for a reply.
Your comments
Comments are welcome and are held for moderation before publication. By posting a comment you confirm that the words are yours or that you have the right to post them, and you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, store and (for clarity or length) lightly edit it alongside the article. You keep ownership of what you wrote; ask and the owner can assess a deletion request.
We remove, without notice and at our discretion: spam and link-dropping; abuse, harassment and hate; other people’s personal information; content that is illegal where we operate; and promotional comments whose real purpose is a backlink. Moderation is a judgement call and we will not always get it right, but the bias is towards keeping discussion useful for the next reader who arrives with the same problem.
Lawful and responsible use
Our guides on VPNs, DNS filtering, ad blocking, networking, servers and automation are published for education, privacy protection and legitimate self-hosting. Nothing here is published to help anyone break into systems they do not own, bypass paywalls, logins or licence checks, evade lawful investigation, or violate a service’s terms.
You are responsible for how you apply what you read, and for complying with the laws that apply to you and the terms of the services and software you use. Techniques that are ordinary and legal in one country are restricted in another; where a guide touches on Indian regulation we link the source and date it, but that is background information and not legal advice.
No warranty
Guides are provided “as is”, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.
Where an article carries a dated test note, that note records what we ran and the conditions we ran it under — not a promise that it behaves identically for you. Your hardware, firmware, distribution, package versions, ISP, router and existing configuration all differ. Commands that are safe on our systems can be destructive on yours. Back up before you change a working system, and read a script before you run it with elevated privileges. The full disclaimer sets out the risks in more detail and forms part of these terms.
Availability
This is a personal site on modest infrastructure. We aim to keep it up and fast, but we do not guarantee uptime, and we may change, move or withdraw any page at any time. Where a guide is superseded rather than deleted we try to leave it in place and mark it as legacy, so that links from elsewhere on the internet do not simply break.
Third-party links, software and services
Articles link to external documentation, vendors, products and services. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability, pricing, security or privacy practices. A link is a pointer, not an endorsement or a guarantee, and prices or plans on a linked page can change the day after we cite them.
Third-party software mentioned in a guide is governed by its own licence, not by these terms, and is used at your own risk.
Reporting a problem or a rights issue
If you believe something on this site infringes your copyright or trademark, misstates a fact about your product, or reproduces your work without permission, write to support@technobabu.com with the URL, specific material and explanation of your claim. The owner will review and act on the report.
The same listed address is for security reports. Allow a reasonable window for assessment before making reports public.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TechnoBabu and Anurag Sinha are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages arising from your use of this site or from following anything published on it. That includes, without limitation, data loss, corrupted storage, damaged or bricked hardware, voided warranties, security incidents, downtime, breach of an ISP’s or service provider’s terms, and money spent on hardware, hosting or subscriptions.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or liabilities, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Privacy and cookies
Your use of this site is also covered by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect, how Google AdSense advertising cookies work, the consent choices available to visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, how we honour the Global Privacy Control signal, and your rights under the GDPR, India’s DPDPA and the CCPA. By using the site you acknowledge that policy.
Advertising
If ads appear on this site, they are served through Google AdSense. Advertising is separate from editorial decisions. You agree not to interfere with, obscure, or artificially interact with any ad (for example, by clicking without genuine interest or using automated means).
Ad slots are filled by Google’s systems rather than chosen by us, and we do not control which specific advertisers appear. If you see an ad here that is misleading, offensive or broken, tell us the page and roughly when you saw it and we will report it — that feedback is genuinely useful, because we see a different set of ads than you do.
If part of these terms fails
If any provision here is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force and the unenforceable part is applied only as far as the law allows. Not enforcing a term on one occasion does not waive it later. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, are the whole agreement between us about your use of this site.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, the “last updated” date above changes, and material changes will be noted on the site. Continuing to use TechnoBabu after a change means you accept the revised terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Patna, Bihar have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. If you are a consumer, this does not affect any right you have to bring proceedings in your own country of residence where local law gives you that right.
